Getting the Most Out of Hollowreach
Hollowreach isn't a game to rush. The first time I played I sprinted through and missed most of what makes it special. The second time I wandered, and it became one of my favorites of the year.
Turn your sound up. The audio cues aren't just atmosphere, they hint at nearby paths and hidden notes you'd otherwise walk past.
When you hit a wall, look up. A lot of the map is vertical, and the game rarely holds your hand about climbable surfaces.
Read the notes you find, even the small ones. They're the whole story, and skipping them turns a moving experience into an empty walk.
